Acupuncture & Moxibustion

The aim of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)is to harmonize and optimize the flow of the vital force (qi) by means of its five methods (acupuncture & moxibustion, herbs, diet, tuina, qi gong). It is also a preventative style of medicine aiming at keeping the patient healthy in the first place.
Acupuncture works with fine needles, which are placed into points of the qi-pathways.
Moxibustion on the other hand, is a special form of warming treatment and is often used in combination with acupuncture.

Other Acupuncture methods

Apart from TCM acupuncture there are also other methods like:

  • Japanese acupuncture, which distinguishes itself for example by a needle insertion technique, which is almost painless or even absolutely painless
  • Classical Chinese acupuncture, which stimulates very few points on different levels
  • Auricular acupuncture: uses the ear as a microsystem to treat the whole body
  • Cosmetic acupuncture: treats skin disturbances such as scars and wrinkles in addition to the constitutional treatment
